TULSA, Okla. - The Drake men's tennis team moved two players
forward at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships on
Saturday (Oct. 1) as the Bulldogs posted a 2-1 singles mark.
Junior James McKie (Edinburgh, Scotland) continued his quest towards a berth
in Monday's (Oct. 3) qualifying draw dealing Liberty's Dillon Segur a 6-1, 6-2
setback.
Freshman Alen Salibasic (Tuzla, Bosnia & Herzegovina) also moved forward
downing Dominque Madden of Clemson, 7-5, 6-3.
Junior Jean Erasmus (Windhoek, Namibia) suffered Drake's lone loss of the
day falling to fellow Missouri Valley Conference foe Matheus Pereira of Wichita
State, 6-2, 6-3.
The Bulldogs continue
pre-qualifying play on Sunday (Oct. 2).
Both McKie and Salibasic will each need a pair of victories on the day
to advance and join junior teammate Anis Ghorbel (Sfax, Tunisia) in the qualifying round.
