ST. LOUIS, MO. - Drake freshman Rayvonte Rice (Champaign, Ill./Centennial) added a trio of accolades to his already impressive resume on Tuesday (March 1) as he was tabbed an honorable mention All-Missouri Valley Conference selection.  He was also named to the All-Newcomer and All-Freshman squads. 

Rice becomes Drake's first All-Freshman team selection since Josh Young during the 2006-07 campaign and fifth overall.  He is also the 12th All-Newcomer honoree in school history.

Statistically, he is ranked third in the conference in steals (1.4), sixth in scoring (13.8), 11th in blocked shots (0.7) and in three-pointers made (1.3).  In league-only games, Rice finished fifth in steals (1.3), seventh in blocked shots (0.8), eighth in scoring (13.5) and 11th in defensive rebounds (4.3).
