DES MOINES, IOWA - The Drake women's tennis team saw its five-match winning streak come to an end on Friday (March 4) as Iowa State registered a 7-0 triumph over the Bulldogs at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

The Cyclones swept the doubles matches to assume a lead they didn't relinquish.  Drake's best chance at earning a victory came at the No. 2 position where junior Earlynn Lauer (Wichita, Kan./Goddard) and freshman Klavdija Rebol (Kranj, Slovenia) were bettered by Simona Cacciuttolo and Erin Karonis, 8-7 (2).

In singles, Rebol took the first set over Maria Fernando Macedo at No. 2, before Macedo rallied back to post a, 6-7, 6-1, 6-2, decision.

Junior Jessica Aguilera (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) also went the distance before coming up short at No. 3 versus Tessa Lang, 6-2, 4-6, 10-5.

Drake eyes the start of a new winning streak when the Bulldogs host Air Force on Sunday (March 6) at 11:00 a.m.
