WATERLOO, IOWA - Opening its Missouri Valley Conference slate with an in-state showdown, the Drake women's tennis team came up short of its fourth-straight victory dropping a 5-2 decision at Northern Iowa on Sunday (April 3).

The Bulldogs' duo of freshman Klavdija Rebol (Kranj, Slovenia) and junior Gabriela Demos (Chesterfield, Mo.) garnered an 8-7 (3) at No. 2 doubles over Chelsea Moore and Lara Okicki, but it was the Panthers who garnered the doubles point to assume they didn't relinquish.

After falling behind 2-0 in singles, Drake received triumphs at the Nos. 1 and 3 positions from sophomore Manca Krizman (Solkan, Slovenia) and Rebol, respectively, to square the affair at two.

Krizman downed Phoebe Walker at No. 1, 6-4, 6-4, while Rebol bested Okicki, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Northern Iowa rallied to secures wins at the Nos. 2, 5 and 6 slots to net the victory.

Drake returns to action on Saturday (April 9) with a 1:00 p.m. tilt at Illinois State.
