DES MOINES, Iowa - On the strength of a 6-1 victory over South Dakota on Sunday (Jan. 29) at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center, the Drake women's tennis team completed a weekend sweep of competition at the Mid-America Jamboree Team Dual with a perfect 3-0 mark.

The Bulldogs dominated doubles play dropping only three points to the Coyotes en route to sweeping all three tilts.  Securing the tally in doubles was the tandem of senior Amanda Aragon (Fort Collins, Colo.) and freshman Nell Boyd (Arlington Heights, Ill.), who dispatched of Nina Barudzic and Marina Kiefer at No. 3, 8-1.

Despite three of the six singles matches going into a deciding third set, Drake garnered wins at five of the six positions to triumph for the third consecutive contest.

Senior Jessica Aguilera (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) and junior Manca Krizman (Solkan, Slovenia) provided the Bulldogs a 3-0 advantage before senior Gabriela Demos iced the victory with a 6-1, 6-0 decision against Michelle Elkin at the No. 1 slot.

Drake also received wins courtesy of Boyd and junior Ali Patterson (Overland Park, Kan.) at the Nos. 3 and 5 holes, respectively.

The Bulldogs close out a four-match homestand on Friday (Feb. 3) hosting North Dakota in a 6:00 p.m. tilt at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
