DES MOINES, Iowa - Rolling of its seventh-consecutive victory, the Drake women's tennis team registered a 6-1 triumph over UMKC on Saturday (Feb. 18) at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs garnered victories at the top two doubles positions to assume a lead they didn't relinquish en route to improving to 5-0 at home this season.

Clinching the deciding tally in doubles with an 8-3 win at No. 1 was the tandem of senior Gabriela Demos (Chesterfield, Mo.) and junior Manca Krizman (Solkan, Slovenia).

Freshman Nell Boyd (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and Demos extended Drake's margin to within a point of victory with decisions at the Nos. 3 and 4 singles slots.

Boyd bested Suzan Lisenby at No. 3, 6-0, 6-1, while Demos downed Amelie Amsallem at No. 4, 6-1, 6-0.

The Kangaroos claimed the win at No. 6 before senior Jessica Aguilera (Santa Cruz, Bolivia) sealed the triumph dispatching of Jillian Yakominich at No. 5, 6-0, 6-1.

Rounding out the Bulldogs' victory total on the top-two courts were sophomore Klavdija Rebol (Kranj, Slovenia) and Krizman.
