Peoria, Ill. - The Drake Bulldogs rallied from a
four-point halftime deficit to beat the Bradley Braves, 77-65 on Friday night
at the Renaissance Coliseum. Four
Bulldogs scored in double figures in the comeback win.

Freshman Kyndal Clark (Webb City, Mo.) scored a
career-high 20 points to pace Drake (14-13, 8-8 MVC). Sophomore forward Morgan
Reid (Kansas City, Mo.) and redshirt freshman guard Carly Grenfell (York, Neb.)
each scored 16 points, which is each of their career-highs. Reid pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds and
dished a game-high seven assists.
Senior center Rachel Hackbarth (Colgate, Wis.) scored 15
points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her 13th straight double-double
and her 20th overall this season, which is tops in the country.
Down by as much as nine early in the second half, the
Bulldogs used great shooting going 13-of-24 (54 percent) from the field and hit
16-of-18 from the free throw line to overtake the Braves.
Bradley (14-13, 5-10 MVC) was led in scoring by Catie
O'Leary with 18 points. Des Moines
native Shronda Butts scored 15 points but was held to just four points in the
second half. Leah Kassing added 11
points but battled foul trouble and scored just two second half points for the
Braves.
Grenfell and Reid carried Drake to start the game as Reid
had six points in the first five minutes of the game to help build a 12-8
lead. Grenfell scored eight points after
the first media timeout to push the Bulldogs lead to 21-10 after Clark knocked
down a three-pointer.
A 15-3 run at the end of the half by Bradley put them
ahead 37-33 going into the break. Butts
led the Braves with 11 points and Kassing added nine points. Bradley shot 14 free throws compared to just
six for the Bulldogs in the opening half.
The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Reid in the first
half as she finished with 10 points and a team-high five rebounds. Grenfell added eight points and Hackbarth
scored seven points. Drake shot 13-of-25
from the field and knocked down four three-pointers.
Drake finished the game 26-of-49 (53 percent) from the
field, 6-of-13 (46 percent) and knocked down 19-of-24 free throws. Bradley was held to just 37 percent from the
field (20-of-54) and 24 percent from behind the arc (4-of-17).
The Bulldogs will return to action this Sunday when they
travel to Cedar Falls to face UNI.
