Drake Women Officially Sign Transfer Forward Myers

Bulldogs bolster interior through transfer portal with rebounding machine

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's basketball team made addition to its 2026-27 roster today with the signing of two-time transfer forward Allie Myers.

Myers comes to Des Moines after a year in Stephenville, Texas at Tarleton State University. While with the Texans, she made a major impact on the glass with two games of 10-or-more rebounds. She snared 111 total on the season for an average just under four per game. Myers' career high 13 boards on Feb. 7 against Southern Utah helped Tarleton earn a road victory.

On the offensive end of the floor, Myers averaged 2.7 points per game and logged a season best eight points at Utah Valley on Jan. 29.

Prior to joining the Texans' squad, the 6-foot 1-inch forward spent two years at Seward County Community College where she was an All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference honoree. Myers' rebounding prowess was evident at Seward with an average of 13 boards per game at the junior college level. As a first-year player, Allie was third in the entire NJCAA on the glass with 14 double-doubles to her credit. Her personal best scoring output came against Northwest Kansas Tech with a 30-point flourish.

A native of the Lone Star State, Myers eventually moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico where she attended Carlsbad High School. At the prep level, she averaged 15 points and six rebounds as a senior, enough to garner First Team All-District recognition.

Myers will join three rookie newcomers on the Bulldog roster this season as incoming freshmen Alex Couch, Grace Fincham, and Karis Finley officially signed last November.
