Drake Collects 7-0 Triumph Over Green Bay

DES MOINES, Iowa - In its first home outdoor match of the season, the No. 45 Drake men's tennis team earned a 7-0 decision past Green Bay on Sunday (March 25) at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs staked themselves to an early 1-0 lead on the strength of a sweep of the doubles competition.   Registering the clinching tally in doubles was the tandem of senior Cesar Bracho (Luque, Paraguay) and freshman Alen Salibasic (Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina).  The duo posted an 8-6 victory at the No. 2 position over Craig Cox and Erik Finkenbrink.

Sophomore Robin Goodman (Cambridge, England) opened singles with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph against Cox at the No. 5 hole, before Salibasic claimed Drake's third point of the match downing Felix Goepper at No. 4, 6-3, 6-1.

Playing at No. 2, junior Anis Ghorbel (Sfax, Tunisia) garnered the match-clinching point besting Michael Tenzer, 6-4, 6-3.

The Bulldogs also received wins at the Nos. 1, 3 and 6 positions from junior James McKie (Edinburgh, Scotland), senior Jonathan Hadash (Lapid, Israel) and freshman Ben Mullis (Leicestershire, England).
