WINDSOR, N.J. - Drake had eight student-athletes selected
to the 2012 MAAC Women's Rowing All-Academic Teams announced the MAAC office today.
The MAAC also announced Drake rowing head coach Charlie DiSilvestro was
selected the 2012 MAAC Women's Coach of the Year.

Bannister (LaGrange, Ill.), Mallory
Bonstrom (Eau Clarie, Wis.), Justine
Choe (Morton Grove, Ill.), Susan
Goullete (New Brighton, Minn.), Jessica
Nightser (Council Bluffs, Iowa), Madison
Perington (Victoria, Minn.), Andrea
Piekarczyk (Downers Grove, Ill.) and Monica
Worsley (Cary, Ill.) all were named to the All-Academic team. Bannister and
Piekarczyk earned 4.0 grade point averages for the second year in a row.
A total of 92 athletes comprise the 2012 MAAC Men's and
Women's Rowing All-Academic Teams, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
announced today.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a
student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a
cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
DiSilvestro is in his 19th season as head
coach at Drake. He was named Drake's head coach in July 1993 and was awarded
the Collegiate Coach of the Year award by the Dad Vail Regatta in May, 2011.
The Bulldogs will compete tomorrow in the 2012 MAAC
Championships in West Windsor, N.J.
