FLUSHING, N.Y. - Drake men's tennis senior Robin Goodman (Cambridge, England) and junior Ravi Patel (London, England) came up short in their bid to reach the semifinals of the main doubles draw at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA)/United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships hosted by Columbia University on Friday (Nov. 8) at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center dropping an 8-6 decision versus the 10th-ranked doubles team of Ross Guignon and Tom Kopinski from Illinois.
After falling in the initial game, Goodman and Patel captured the next two frames to assume a 2-1 lead.
The Illini duo stormed back claiming the next two games to retake the advantage, 3-2. The two sides split the next eight points before Illinois won the final tally to collect an 8-6 victory.
