DES MOINES, Iowa - Drake redshirt sophomore men's soccer player Alec Bartlett (Overland Park, Kan./St. James Academy) has been tabbed a 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire All-Midwest Region second-team selection.

It marks the fifth consecutive season in which the Bulldogs have had a player on the all-region squad. Bartlett is the 15th player in the history of the Drake men's soccer program to be so honored.

A first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference honoree, Bartlett stepped into the Bulldogs' rotation immediately on the defensive backline in 2012 as a freshman and has started all 39 games of his Drake career, including 20 this fall. He registered a goal and an assist this season on 13 shots en route to sparking the Bulldogs to five shutouts.
