DES MOINES, Iowa - Registering its eighth consecutive victory, the Drake men's tennis team posted a 7-0 decision past North Dakota (0-1) in the first of two matches for the Bulldogs (8-1) on Saturday (Feb. 16) at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

Drake cracked the scoring column first on the strength of sweeping the doubles competition.

Securing the doubles point with an 8-2 win on the No. 2 court was the duo of junior Robin Goodman (Cambridge, England) and sophomore Ben Mullis (Leicestershire, England), who bested Grant Bakke and Ryan McGuigan.

Goodman opened singles play extending Drake's lead to 2-0, dispatching Josh Oothoudt at No. 1, 6-0, 6-0.

Sophomore Alen Salibasic (Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina) pushed the margin to 3-0 after recording a 6-1, 6-2 triumph versus McGuigan at No. 2.

In his first action in nearly three weeks, freshman Ben Lott (Newcastle, England) clinched the match in the Bulldogs' favor with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Joe Lee at No. 4.

Drake also received wins at the Nos. 3, 5 and 6 positions, respectively, from Mullis, sophomore Grant Tesmer (Lincoln, Neb.) and senior Ryan Drake (Hilton Head Island, S.C.).

In their second contest of the day, Drake is slated to battle Western Illinois in a 2:00 p.m. tilt at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
