SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Freshman
Madison Glennie (Clearwater, Fla.) led the second-round efforts of the Drake women's golf team carding a team-low 72 on Monday (Oct. 13) at the Payne Stewart Memorial hosted by Missouri State.
As a team, the Bulldogs turned in a 317 total to enter Tuesday's (Oct. 14) final round in 11th place with a 630 (313-317) cumulative scorecard.
“I was disappointed with not being able to improve on our score shooting a 317 today,” Drake head coach Leanne Smith commented. “The freshmen played really well and Sarah (Browning) as well, she just wasn't able to finish off her round as she had a few big numbers over her final few holes. There is a lot for us to build off, as a team though we need to be more consistent and shoot lower scores tomorrow to improve in the final standings.”
Glennie is tied for 13th place with a 151 (79-72) cumulative scorecard, while freshman Brooke Miller (Pomona, Calif.) finished her second round shooting a 78 to maintain a 158 (80-78) 36-hole total.
Sophomore Sarah Browning (Midhurst, Ontario), junior Katie Clausen (Hinton, Iowa) and senior Danielle Brooks (Red Wing, Minn.) rounded out Drake's efforts on the day with scores of 80, 87 and 89, respectively.
The Payne Stewart Memorial concludes on Tuesday (Oct. 14) beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
