DRAKE QUICKLY
- The Drake Bulldogs are coming off a hard-fought 70-61 defeat at the hands of the No. 24 Wichita State Shockers Friday night.
- Drake led 26-25 halftime as Wichita State trailed at the half in a league contest for just the second time this season.
- Freshman Lizzy Wendell (Blue Springs, Mo.), who earlier in the week earned her school-record fifth MVC Newcomer of the Week award, paced Drake with 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists as she played all 40 minutes for the second time in her young career.
- Junior Kyndal Clark (Webb City, Mo.) nailed four three-pointers on her way to 18 points, while freshman Caitlin Ingle (Runnells, Iowa) added 10 points, five boards and three assists.
- Clark has 78 three-pointers this season, which is the fourth best single-season total and just 12 away from the top mark set by former standout Kiersten Miller during the 1996-97 campaign.
- Drake comes into today trying to salvage a split in the season series with Missouri State after the Lady Bears won the first contest, 89-66, in Springfield, Mo.
- The game will be be broadcast on Mediacom MC22 and on ESPN3.
MISSOURI STATE QUICKLY
- Missouri State had a five-game winning streak snapped Friday night at Northern Iowa as the Panthers won 79-60.
- The Lady Bears are without their leading scorer Kenzie Williams, who suffered a season-ending knee injury against Loyola on Feb. 7. Williams was averaging 14.8 points per game.
- The Snow sisters, Tyonna and Bry Snow, are next in scoring at 13.2 and 11.4, respectively.
- Wendell and Tyonna Snow were teammates at Blue Springs (Mo.) High School, which is located just outside of Kansas City.
HOOPS 4 HOPE
The Drake women's basketball program hosts its annual Hoops 4 Hope game Sunday. The first 3,000 fans receive a free t-shirt with activities on the concourse prior to the game. At halftime, recognition of cancer survivors will take place, and all cancer survivors are invited to meet in the southeast corner of the Knapp Center to participate. There is a special pink banner fans are encouraged to write the names of lost loved ones on or to recognize cancer survivors.
DRAKE VS MISSOURI STATE
Sunday's contest will be the 75th meeting between Drake and Missouri State with the Lady Bears holding a slight advantage, 39-35, in the all-time series. The Bulldogs took two out of three matchups in 2012-13, including a win in the quarterfinals of the MVC Tournament in St. Charles, Mo. The programs are two of the best in the MVC as Missouri State has captured nine regular season crowns, while Drake has won three. Missouri State has won an MVC-leading nine MVC tournament titles and Drake is second with five.

Drake hits the road for its final road contests of the regular season with trips to Bradley (Feb. 21) and Loyola (Feb. 23). Drake behind a school-record 17 three-pointers blitzed Bradley, 97-77, on Jan. 26 at the Knapp Center. Loyola edged Drake, 75-69, on Jan. 24 at the Knapp Center. Clark drilled a school-record 10 three's against the Ramblers.
