DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake University women's basketball was represented by two Bulldogs among the 2025-26 MVC award winners, the league announced today. Senior guard Abbie Aalsma landed on the All-MVC Third Team while freshman phenom Anna Becker was named to the MVC All-Freshman Team.
 
Aalsma led the Bulldogs in scoring in the regular season with 15.1 points per game. She grabbed 3.1 rebounds per game, dished out 2.8 assists per game, shot 41.1 percent from the field and made 31 percent of her 3-point attempts. Aalsma started 29 of Drake's 30 games this season and was named MVC Player of the Week to open the season.
 
Becker showed impressive improvement throughout her debut season at Drake. The native Kansan started every game for the Bulldogs and scored 11.5 points per game. She logged 4.7 rebounds per game, 1.9 assists per game, and made over 48 percent of her field goal attempts. Becker was named MVC Freshman of the Week five times throughout the season.

Aalsma, Becker, and the rest of the Bulldogs will tip of their postseason slate on Thursday, Mar. 12 in the first round of the 2025 MVC Women's Basketball Tournament. Drake, the No. 6 seed, will take on No. 11 Valparaiso at 8:30 p.m. in Coralville, Iowa.
