DES MOINES, Iowa - The Drake women's tennis team recorded its third consecutive victory on Saturday (Feb. 15) on the strength of a 7-0 triumph past Gustavus Adolphus (0-1) at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs (3-1) assumed a lead they didn't relinquish in the match after collecting the doubles tally with wins at the Nos. 2 and 3 positions. Clinching the deciding tally with an 8-1 victory at the No. 2 spot was the tandem of junior Nell Boyd (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and senior Klavdija Rebol (Kranj, Slovenia).

In singles, Boyd pushed Drake's advantage to 2-0 besting Aryn Eckstrom at No. 4, 6-0, 6-0.

Sophomore Maddie Johnson (Onalaska, Wis.) stretched the lead to 3-0 dispatching Sidney Dirks at No. 3, 6-0,6-0.

Sophomore Jordan Eggleston (LaQuinta, Calif.) clinched the victory for Drake netting a 6-0, 6-0 decision over Annie Mahoney on the No. 6 court.

The Bulldogs also garnered wins at the Nos. 1, 2 and 5 slots from sophomore Mariel Ante (Riverside, Calif.), Rebol and sophomore Lea Kozulic (Varazdin, Croatia).

Drake returns to action on Friday (Feb. 21) welcoming former Missouri Valley Conference rival Creighton to the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. Match time is slated for 6:00 p.m.
