SILVIS, Ill. – The Drake men's golf team was more than halfway through its second round at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship at TPC Deere Run on Monday (April 28) when lightning suspended play until 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday (April 29).
The Bulldogs were in the midst of a strong second round that finds Drake in fifth place after registering an opening-round 318.
Senior Matt Ohl (Milford, Iowa) led the Bulldogs firing a team-low 77 in the morning round, good for a 19th-place tie.
Sophomore Will McDonald (Tulsa, Okla.) and redshirt junior Devin Leland (Huxley, Iowa) were tied for 31st place after each recorded an 80 during the tournament's initial 18 holes.
Junior Dane Worley (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) and senior Connor Steele (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) rounded out the Bulldogs' efforts in the opening round with scores of 81 and 82, respectively.
Drake concludes action at the MVC Championship on Tuesday (April 29) with the resumption of the second round before the final 18 holes are contested.
