DES MOINES, Iowa – For the second consecutive season, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has honored the Drake men's tennis team for its academic success as the Bulldogs were named recipients of the 2014 ITA All-Academic Team Award.
The recognition is bestowed on squads maintaining a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale) for the 2013-14 academic year. Drake registered a 3.33 team GPA for the 2013-14 academic year. The Bulldogs were the lone Missouri Valley Conference men's tennis squad recognized by the ITA.
Senior Robin Goodman (Cambridge, England) and juniors Matt Frost (Cambridge, England), Ben Mullis (Leicestershire, England), Alen Salibasic (Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Grant Tesmer (Lincoln, Neb.) each garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete status for achieving a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
Goodman and Salibasic each boasted perfect 4.0 GPA's in business management and international business, respectively. Mullis, Tesmer and Frost maintained 3.71, 3.67 and 3.50 GPA's in law, politics and society, health sciences and business management.
