TULSA, Okla. - The Drake men's tennis tandem of junior

Alen Salibasic (Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina) moved one step closer to berths in the main singles and doubles draws, respectively, at the Saint Francis Health Systems/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Championships on Tuesday (Sept. 30) registering a 3-0 combined singles/doubles ledger in qualifying-round action.
Lott moved within one victory of qualifying for the main singles draw after netting a 6-3, 6-2 triumph past 79th-ranked Benjamin Lott of Florida State. He will now square off against 108th-rated Ashok Narayana of Columbia on Wednesday (Oct. 1) for the right to advance into the tournament's main draw that begins play on Thursday (Oct. 2).
In doubles, Lott and Salibasic opened the qualifying draw battling Ignacio Gonzalez and Muniz-Vadym Kalyuzhnyy of South Florida. The duo dropped the first set, 6-7 (5), before fighting back to force the tiebreaker winning the second set, 6-4. In the tiebreaker, Lott and Salibasic garnered the victory, 10-6, to win the match, 6-7 (5), 6-4, 10-6.
The tandem then squared off against Utah's Matt Cowley and Cedric Willems in a second-round showdown with a berth in Wednesday's qualifying flight finals on the line. It took three sets for Lott and Salibasic to prove victorious, 7-5, 6-7 (0), 10-4.
The duo is one win away from Thursday's (Oct. 2) main draw and will play A.J. Cantanzariti and Max Lunkin of Texas A&M on Wednesday (Oct. 1).
