The Drake University men's basketball team plays its first road game of the young 2015-16 season on Monday evening when it faces Tulane in New Orleans, La. The contest will be broadcast on ESPN3 and is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
The Bulldogs make the trek to New Orleans with a 1-0 record after opening the season with a 97-52 win over Simpson College on Friday evening. All 12 available players saw action in the game with no player logging more than 22 minutes. The Bulldogs also shot 69.8 percent from the floor in the win, 50 percent from the arc and 51.4 percent of its baskets were off the team's 19 assists.Tulane opened its season with a 68-67 overtime loss to Alabama A&M on Friday evening.
Monday's game is the sixth all-time between the two programs, but the first since the 1994-95 season. Drake leads the series, which dates back to 1970, by a 3-2 margin.
Following Monday's game, the Bulldogs return to the Knapp Center on Saturday evening to host UMKC at 7 p.m. The Kangaroos are coached by former Drake assistant coach Kareem Richardson.
