DES MOINES, Iowa — Former Drake men's basketball guard
Mitch Mascari is set to play for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Summer League.
Mascari will join the Suns this weekend for summer workouts and then begin his journey in the Summer League in Las Vegas, which takes place from July 10-20.
The Geneva, Illinois, native was a key cog for the Bulldogs during the 2024-25 season starting all 35 games en route to a program record 31 wins and a Round of 64 victory of No. 6 seed Missouri in the NCAA Tournament. A Third Team All-MVC selection, Mascari averaged 9.4 points per game, while leading team with 87 three-point baskets which ranks tied for fourth on the school single-season list. He enjoyed four 20-plus scoring games, while making four or more three-point baskets in eight games.
Mascari solidified himself as one of the best sharp shooters in the country tallying a 40.3-percent mark from beyond the arc in his lone season in Des Moines. He was named MVC Newcomer of Week during the week of November 25 after averaging 18.0 points, while shooting 57.1 percent from three-point range (12-21) to lead Drake to Charleston Classic title.
