The Game
• The Drake University men's basketball team closes out the 2014-15 regular season at Southern Illinois on Saturday afternoon.
• Drake travels to Illinois having won five of its last nine games to secure the No. 7 seed in next week's MVC Tournament.
• SIU is 10-20 overall this season and 3-14 in the MVC. The Salukis will be either the ninth or 10th seed in the MVC Tournament.
• The Bulldogs are coming off an 80-75 overtime loss to Loyola in which Jacob Enevold scored a career-high 21 points on 9-of-9 shooting with eight rebounds.
• The Bulldogs are in search of their second road win of the season and their second season sweep of an MVC opponent. Earlier in the year the Bulldogs earned a road win and sweep over Bradley.
• Freshman Reed Timmer has led the Bulldogs in the last nine games with 131 combined points during that span. He has shot 47.8 percent from the field in those nine games and 57.1 percent from the three-point arc.
• Against Loyola, Timmer had 15 points and five assists with no turnovers in 43 minutes. He is one of only 15 freshman in the nation to average at least 11.0 points and 2.5 assists per game and the only in the Valley to do so.
• Drake's four active freshmen account for 33.4 percent of the Bulldogs' scoring and 34.3 percent of the team's minutes.
• Drake's primary point guards, Karl Madison and Reed Timmer, have a 70-28 assist-to-turnover ratio in the last 13 games. Madison boasts a 40-to-14 ratio during that span.
• Drake's 20 total losses have come to teams with a combined 295-162 (.646) record.
• Drake has played eight games this season against teams that have now recorded 20 or more wins.
