DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's soccer team has signed high school standout Tawny Carroll (Streamwood, Ill.) to a 2015 National Letter of Intent, head coach Lindsey Horner announced Wednesday, March 25.
Carroll, a forward from Streamwood High School, has earned all-conference accolades in each of her first three seasons as she prepares for her senior season this spring. In three seasons, she has scored 54 goals for the Sabres. Carroll is a member of the Fox Valley Strikers club team.
“Tawny is the type of player that has the athleticism, pace, desire to run at players and passion for the game to come in and serve a role within our team straight away,” commented Horner. “The exciting part about where Tawny is that she has her best years of soccer ahead of her and tremendous potential to improve in the right environment. We are excited to help her grow as a student-athlete while she adds another attacking element to our squad.”
Carroll joins six future Bulldogs in Alyssa Brand (Skokie, Ill.), Linda Fiorito (Overland Park, Kan.), Elaine Gorom (O'Fallon, Mo.), Maggie Juhlin (Springfield, Ill.), Vanessa Kavan (Lincoln, Neb.) and Grace Myers (Noblesville, Ind.), who signed with Drake for the 2015 season back in February.
