ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Drake University's senior Nell Boyd (Arlington Heights, Ill.) was named Missouri Valley Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Boyd posted a combined 3-1 record for the week, as the Bulldogs earned wins at Iowa and Northern Iowa to become the best team in the state of Iowa for the first time since 1992. Boyd secured the match clinching point in both matches for Drake. She beat Iowa's Anastaia Reimchen, 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3 to complete the 4-3 comeback. She also tallied the match clinching point over UNI at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-4. Boyd's doubles win with Maddie Johnson came against UNI to help Drake sweep the doubles point over the Panthers.

Boyd and her teammates will travel to Illinois State on Friday, April 3 and Bradley on April 4.
