ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Drake University senior Karl Madison (Springfield, Ill.) has been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete Team, the MVC announced Thursday, March 5.

Madison was named to the Scholar-Athlete second team as one of 14 student-athletes honored by the MVC for their efforts on the course and in the classroom.

The senior guard has moved into a starting role for the Bulldogs this season and has recorded a 45-to-15 assist to turnover ratio in the last 14 games of the season. Academically, Madison has already received his bachelor's degree in law, politics and society and is pursuing a master's degree in public administration. He has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average in his graduate degree coursework.

Madison and his teammates being MVC Tournament play Thursday evening against Bradley. Tip off against the Braves is scheduled for 8:35 p.m.
