YPSILANTI, Mich. – After a one week break from competition, the Drake University rowing team returns to the water traveling to the 2015 MACRA Championships, which will be held April 25 on Ford Lake. The regatta will feature trials and finals as the Bulldogs are set to compete in varsity 8 and 2nd varsity 8 races as well as in the open 4 race.
“It's the first time we are coming to this regatta so there is some unknown going against teams we normally don't see, but at the same time it's exciting to compete against new teams,” said head coach Charlie DiSilvestro. “We will race against some familiar teams that we competed against at Lubbers last weekend so it will be good to see how we do with some race adjustments and with two weeks of training since.”
Drake will have one week off from action after MACRA before traveling to Omaha, Neb. to take on its rival, the Creighton Blue Jays, on May 2.
