ST. LOUIS – Redshirt junior goalkeeper Darrin MacLeod (Waterloo, Ontario) of the Drake men's soccer team has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

MacLeod posted his second shutout of the season in Drake's 4-0 victory over UMKC last week. He finished with one save as the Kangaroos were held to just four total shots in the game.

He followed that shutout with a solid performance against DePaul collecting five saves, including several key stops, in a back-and-forth contest that Drake won 3-2. The win over the Blue Demons improved Drake's record to 5-2 on the season as the Bulldogs have matched their win total in 2014.
