Kayla Armstrong, a senior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa has been named this week's Bulldog Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Drake Graduate and Professional Programs.
Armstrong, a midfielder on the Drake women's soccer team, completed a hat trick in the team's 3-1 win over Missouri State on Oct. 22. The hat trick goals were her sixth, seventh and eighth goals of the season. This outstanding performance followed Drake's 1-0 win over Iowa State on Oct. 18 where Armstrong scored the golden goal.
Leading the Bulldogs in goals scored, Armstrong also currently ranks second in the MVC in goals scored this season.
Academically, Armstrong holds a 3.38 grade point average as a double major in marketing and management in the College of Business and Public Administration.
Armstrong and the women's soccer team conclude the 2016 regular season on Oct. 27 as they take on Loyola in Chicago. First kick is set for 6 p.m. and the match will be broadcast on
The Valley on ESPN3.
