Drake Basketball is set to return to downtown Des Moines on Thursday, Oct. 2. Bulldog basketball will be back in the heart of Iowa's capital city from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. as part
of the annual Drake Hoops Fest presented by DMOS.
The night will commence with a youth clinic from 5:30 to 6:30 led by student-athletes on the Drake men's and women's basketball teams. Youth Bulldogs can register for the clinic
here.
Basketball events will begin at 6:30 p.m. and include team introductions and hoops related contests. The evening will conclude in exciting fashion with a drone light show.
Fans will be able to satisfy their cravings with various food and beverage trucks, including beer. The specific lineup of dining options has yet to be determined.
Spectators are encouraged to park in the garage located on Locust St. and 2nd St., or find available parking on the surrounding streets, except for Robert D. Ray Dr. which will be closed from Grand Ave to Des Moines St. for the night's events.
Fan giveaways will be available thanks to Drake Athletics partners. Patrons will also have the opportunity to purchase Drake hoops season tickets and gear from the Bulldog Shop.
Drake Hoops Fest presented by DMOS also marks the official beginning of Drake University Parents and Family Weekend, which also include a volleyball match vs. Murray State on Oct. 3, a football game vs. Valparaiso on Oct. 4, and a women's soccer fixture vs. Indiana State on Oct. 5.
