Inderski Records 1,000th Career Kill In A 3-1 Loss To Loyola

Junior becomes just the fourth Bulldog to record 1,000 career kills and digs

DES MOINES, Iowa – Junior Kyla Inderski (Urbandale, Iowa) recorded 13 kills to reach the 1,000 career kill mark in the Drake University volleyball team's 3-1 loss to Loyola on Saturday, Nov. 12, evening at the Knapp Center.

Inderski's 13 kills brought her career total to 1,011. After recording her 1,000th career dig in Friday night's win, Inderski became just the fourth Bulldog in history to record 1,000 career kills and digs. She also added 18 digs on Saturday to record her 15th double-double of the season.

Junior Odessa Cody (Chicago, Ill.) tallied 10 kills while senior Chandelle Davidson (Gretna, Neb.) had a team-high 20 assists for the Bulldogs.

Drake (15-15, 6-10 MVC) fell by set scores of 19-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-19.

The Bulldogs never trailed in the first set, but the second and third set featured 20 ties and 10 lead changes as Loyola was able to wrestle control of the match from the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs struggled to stop Loyola in the fourth set, going down early, 10-4, before falling, 25-19.

Loyola (13-17, 8-9 MVC) was led by Gabi Maciagowski with 24 kills while Anna Fleunt recorded a game-high 49 assists. With the win, the Ramblers strengthened their lead over Drake for the sixth and final spot in the upcoming MVC Tournament.

Following Saturday's match, the Bulldogs honored their five seniors, Chandelle Davidson, Capris Quaites, Makena Schoene, Michelle Thommi and Nicole Woods

The Bulldogs conclude their regular season with a pair of road matches against Indiana State and Illinois State on Nov. 18 and Nov. 19, respectively. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on The Valley on ESPN3.
