SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – Drake football's
Grant Kraemer was named Pioneer Football League Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Sunday, Nov. 20.
Kraemer threw five touchdowns to help Drake end its 2016 season with a 45-17 PFL victory at Stetson, Saturday. He threw for a career-high 334 yards, completing 21-of-33 passes, and became the first Drake quarterback to throw for five touchdowns in a game since 2013. Kraemer threw for three touchdowns in a stretch of four consecutive second-half drives that each ended in a touchdown that broke the game open. His first touchdown pass was a 73-yard strike to tight end
Eric Saubert that put Drake ahead in the second quarter.
The Bulldogs concluded the season on a four-game winning streak, finishing third in the PFL with a 6-2 record and ended the year with a 7-4 overall mark.
