The Drake University volleyball team closes out its home season with a pair of matches against Bradley and Loyola at the Knapp Center. The Bulldogs face Bradley on Friday, Nov. 11, at 5 p.m. followed by a match against Loyola Saturday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. Both matches will be broadcast via
The Valley on ESPN3.
Prior to the start of Saturday's home finale, the Bulldogs will honor their five seniors,
Chandelle Davidson,
Capris Quaites,
Makena Schoene,
Michelle Thommi and
Nicole Woods.
Earlier this season the Bulldogs fell to Loyola 0-3 before defeating Bradley 3-1 on the road.
Drake (14-14, 5-9 MVC) enters this homestand in seventh place in the league standings, just behind Loyola (12-16, 7-8 MVC) who sits in sixth place holding on to the final berth for the MVC Tournament. Bradley (7-19, 2-13) is currently ninth in the conference. With two weeks left in conference play, the Bulldogs aim to potentially move into that sixth spot in the league standings to secure a berth in the upcoming Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
One of the seniors set to be honored this weekend,
Michelle Thommi, recently recorded her 1,500
th career dig to become the third Bulldog in program history to reach the 1,500 career dig mark. She is ranked seventh nationally in total digs and her 543 digs this season ranks as the sixth most in program history.
Another Bulldog,
Kyla Inderski, is also climbing the charts in the record book as she has now recorded 981 career kills and 997 career digs. The junior has also recorded a career-best 47 blocks this season.
Following this week's homestand, the Bulldogs will conclude their regular season on the road against Indiana State and Illinois State on Nov. 18 and 19, respectively.
