LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Drake University women's tennis team split a pair of matches on Saturday as the Bulldogs defeated Northern Colorado 4-0 before falling to host Wyoming 5-0.

The Bulldogs took the doubles point against the Bears as Mariel Ante and Tess Herder beat 40^th-ranked Beth Coton and Remi Immler 6-3 in the No. 1 doubles match. Maddie Johnson and Joely Lomas secured the doubles point for Drake with a 7-5 win at No. 2.

The teams would only compete in four of the six singles matches with Drake winning three matches to clinch the match. Johnson was the first one finished, winning 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3, as Herder gave Drake a 3-0 lead with a dominating 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 4. Summer Brills clinched the match with a strong 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 2.

In the nightcap, Wyoming started off strong in doubles by jumping out to a 1-0 lead, winning on court 1 and court 3.

The Cowgirls carried that momentum over to singles and won four singles matches. UW earned wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 to clinch the match. Herder's match on court four went to three sets, but fell in a third-set super tiebreaker, 10-5, after winning the first set 7-5 and losing the second, 6-4.

The Bulldogs have a quick turnaround as they travel to 56^th-ranked Denver on Sunday at 12 p.m.
