The Drake University men's basketball team closes out its 2015-16 regular season on Saturday afternoon when it hosts Loyola. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Knapp Center with the contest broadcast via The Valley On ESPN3.
Saturday will also serve as the Bulldogs' 'Senior Day' with the program honoring sixth-year senior Karl Madison. Madison will be playing in his 119th game on Saturday.
Earlier this season, the Ramblers defeated the Bulldogs in Chicago, 68-63, behind 17 points from Montel James. Ore Arogundade scored a then career-high 12 points in the loss. Arogundade enters this meeting coming off a career-high 16 points at Missouri State on Wednesday. He has now averaged 9.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in the last 11 games.
Drake heads into its final regular-season game with a 6-23 overall record and a 1-16 mark in MVC games while Loyola has won four of its last six games to stand at 14-15 overall and 7-10 in the MVC.
Drake has shot 41.9 percent from the three-point arc in the last three games. The Bulldogs currently rank 22nd nationally in three-point shooting at 38.9 percent.
Following Saturday's game, the Bulldogs travel to St. Louis for the MVC Tournament. The Bulldogs open tournament play as the No. 10 seed on Thursday, March 3 at 8:30 p.m. against a seventh seed to be determined.
