BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – The Drake University men's golf concluded its regular season on Tuesday and finished in 11th-place at the ORU Shootout.
The Bulldogs recorded their best round of the tournament, shooting a 306 for a total score of 933 (308-319-306). Drake was just 10 strokes from eighth-place South Dakota and host Oral Roberts.
Sophomore
Drew Ison shot even par (72), which was the third best round of the day to finish tied for 42nd-place with a score of 231 (78-81-72). Freshman
Tommi Avant, who led the team through 36 holes, carded an 80 for a total score of 233 (76-77-80), while senior
Blake Huser totaled a 234 (80-78-76). Freshman
Jack Kennedy and sophomore
Matt Lavery rounded out the team's effort with a score of 238 (74-83-81) and 243 (82-83-78), respectively.
Freshman
Arjun Reddy, who played as an individual, also recorded a 243 (80-81-82).
The Bulldogs will have nearly two weeks to prepare for the Missouri Valley Conference Championship set to take place on April 25 through April 26 at Hutchinson, Kan.
