DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis team cruised to a 6-1 victory over Illinois State in the Bulldogs' final match of the regular season Sunday afternoon at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
 
The Bulldogs earned the doubles point after winning all three double matches. Seniors Maddie Johnson and Mariel Ante along with freshman Joely Lomas and sophomore Summer Brills won 6-4, while senior Lea Kozulic and sophomore Tess Herder defeated their opponents 6-2.
 
Drake maintained their lead after Johnson earned her 100^th career singles victory 6-1,6-1, before wins by Brills 6-4,6-2 and Lomas 6-4, 6-2 to clinch the team victory. Kozulic and Herder both also claimed victories.
 
During the match, the Bulldogs honored their four seniors Ante, Johnson, Jordan Eggleston and Kozulic for their incredible careers at Drake.
 
The Bulldogs will head to the MVC Championship set to begin on Friday, April 29 in Wichita, Kan.
