The National Football League has invited former Drake University standout
Eric Saubert to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Ind.
The NFL Combine is the annual job fair for prospective new NFL players. From Feb. 28-March 6 at Lucas Oil Stadium, the nation's top college football players will be put through a series of drills, tests and interviews in front of more than 600 NFL personnel including head coaches, general managers and scouts.
At 6-5, 250 pounds, Saubert received All-America honors from four different organizations after ranking second among tight ends in the nation in receiving yards per game (70.5) and receiving touchdowns (10). He led Drake with a career-best 56 catches for 776 yards receiving.
In addition to this year's four All-America honors, Saubert was named to All-America teams by the
Associated Press, STATS FCS and FCS ADA last season.
Saubert will get a chance to impress NFL personnel later this month as he will play in the East-West Shrine Game on Saturday, Jan. 21 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
