EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Drake University men's soccer team will play at Evansville on Saturday at 5 p.m. in Missouri Valley Conference action. Drake and Evansville just played each other last Saturday in Des Moines as the Purple Aces edged the Bulldogs, 1-0, with a goal from Ian McGrath in the 64

The final road match and second to last regular season contest is critical for Drake (4-10-1, 1-4-1 MVC) as it fights for seeding in the MVC Tournament, Nov. 7-8-10-12, in Peoria, Ill. The Bulldogs are trying to avoid the tournament's play-in game, Nov. 7, where the bottom two teams play to advance to the quarterfinals the following day. Drake closes the regular season against first-place Missouri State, who they upset 2-1 on Oct. 14 in Springfield, Mo., on Nov. 4.
Evansville (8-1-1, 2-3-1 MVC) followed its win over the Bulldogs with a 2-1 decision over second place Central Arkansas on Oct. 24. The Purple Aces are led by McGrath, who is second in the league in goals with 11. Bradley, Evansville and Loyola are above the Bulldogs in the conference standings as they each have 2-3-1 records in league action.
Following Saturday's match, Drake has a week off until Missouri State visits the Cownie Soccer Complex on Nov. 4. First kick with the Bears is set for 6 p.m.
