Drake (3-3) crushed Mississippi Valley State, 96-60, in its last game of the Rocky Mountain Hoops Classic in Boulder, Colo.
Sara Rhine, who scored a career-high 27 points, was one of five Bulldogs that finished in double figures and one of three that grabbed 12 or more rebounds as the team established the new program-record for single game rebounds with 72. The previous record was 67 set by the 1979 team against Iowa.
Becca Hittner (Urbandale, Iowa) scored 13 points and has hit double digits in all six games this season.
Sammie Bachrodt (Wichita, Kan.) also had 13 points to go with a career-tying six assists.
Nicole Miller (Walker, Iowa) recorded her first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 12 rebounds.
Maddy Dean (Jordan, Minn.) chipped in 10 points.
Becca Jonas (Independence, Mo.) grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds.
Drake, who leads the MVC in scoring at 80.3 points and assists at 20.6 per game, tied its season high with 96 points against the Devilettes. Rhine (16.0 ppg) and Hittner (14.5 ppg) rank fourth and sixth, respectively in the MVC scoring leaders. They are the only non-seniors in the top six.
Iowa State (3-2) split a pair of games at the Junkanoo Jam in Bimini, Bahamas with a win over Tulane and a loss to Central Michigan in the tournament's championship game. Junior standout Bridget Carleton is averaging a team-best 18.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.0 steals per game. The Cyclones have a slight edge in the all-time series, 29-27, after rallying for a 75-67 win over the Bulldogs last season at Hilton Coliseum.
