Men’s Basketball Returns To The Knapp Center To Host Omaha

Bulldogs aiming to avenge earlier loss to Omaha.

The Drake University men's basketball team hopes to put it recent three-game road swing in the rearview mirror when the Bulldogs host Omaha Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Knapp Center. Tipoff for the second meeting between the two teams is scheduled for 5 p.m. The contest is part of a doubleheader with the Drake women's team hosting Nebraska at 2 p.m.

Promotions
- Saturday's game is one of the Bulldogs' Holiday Hoops games with fans able to take a holiday photo with Drake's live mascot Griff and Santa Claus.
- Fans are also encouraged to bring a new or gently used stuff toy toss on to the court at halftime as part of the Bulldogs' annual Teddy Bear Toss. All stuff toys will be donated to local children.
- Saturday's game is also part of the Hy-Vee Fuel Saver +Perks 2-for-1 series with fans able to purchase two tickets for the price of one in the Hy-Vee Hotzone with their Hy-Vee Fuel Saver +Perks card at the Drake Athletic Ticket Office on the day of the game.

The Bulldogs return to their home court looking to end a three-game losing skid that began on Nov. 29 with a 75-73 loss at Omaha. In their most recent outing, Drake suffered a 93-65 loss at South Dakota. The 65-point showing was a season low for Drake's offense that ranks 61st nationally in scoring at 81.9 points per game. However, after allowing 90 or more points in each of the last two games, the Bulldogs focus will be on the defensive end of the floor.

Omaha will be playing its third-straight game on road after dropping back-to-back contests during a recent trip to the West Coast.

In the first meeting this season, Drake outrebounded the Mavericks by 10, but couldn't overcome the effect of 17 costly turnovers in the two-point loss. Graham Woodward (Edina, Minn.) and Nick McGlynn (Stoughton, Wis.) each scored 13 points in that loss as two of five Bulldogs in double figures.

Following Saturday's game, the Bulldogs return to the road to face No. 14 Minnesota Monday, Dec. 11.
