DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis team fell to Iowa State, 4-0, on Friday at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
 
The Bulldogs switched up their doubles lineup and battled tough against a strong Cyclone team. Iowa State managed to take courts two and three to earn the doubles point.
 
"I switched up the doubles teams and we haven't had a lot of time to practice. But I think we improved, even though we didn't get the doubles point," said Drake head coach Mai-Ly Tran.
 
The Cyclones went on to win courts five, six and three, respectively to secure the victory.
 
The Bulldogs were a few points away from getting on the board as Joely Lomas was up 7-5, 5-2 at No. 4. Summer Brills was also ahead before her match went unfinished as well, leading 6-3, 4-3 at No. 2.
 
"In singles, I liked the matches that we were up in, so it was a lot closer than it looked. We are getting better and have to bounce back tomorrow," said Tran.
 
The Bulldogs will look to rebound quickly as they host Omaha on Saturday at 11 a.m.
