Women's Tennis Opens Road Slate At Nebraska

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis team makes its first road trip of the season on Friday as the Bulldogs head to Nebraska to take on the Huskers. The team will close out the weekend with a neutral site match against Colorado State on Saturday.
 
The Huskers and the Bulldogs are set to square off at 5 p.m. at the Dillon Tennis Center.
 
Drake heads into the weekend with a 3-2 record and are coming off a 6-1 win over Nebraska-Omaha on Feb. 11. The Bulldogs have a pair of players with undefeated singles record this spring, Tess Herder and Joely Lomas. Herder is 4-0 and has been moved up to the No. 1 spot last week after opening the season 3-0 at No. 2. Lomas has a 3-0 record and was moved to the No. 3 spot last weekend after going 2-0 at No. 4 in her first two appearances.
 
The Huskers are 6-0 and are coming off dominating 7-0 win over Creighton on Feb. 12. Nebraska has only allowed three points to be recorded in its seven matches, including four shout outs.
 
The Rams enter the weekend with a 2-2 record and earned a 4-3 win over Incarnated Word on Feb. in their last time out.

Next on the Bulldogs' slate is a trip to Milwaukee, Wis. to square off against Marquette (March 4) and UW-Milwaukee (March 5).
