The Drake University men's basketball team plays its final regular-season game of the season when it hosts Bradley Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. Prior to the game, which will be broadcast on
The Valley On ESPN3, the Bulldogs will honor their two seniors,
Jacob Enevold and
A.J. Rutter in their final home game.
Drake has won two of its last three season finales, including a 71-66 win over Bradley on March 1, 2014. However, Bulldogs have lost eight-straight games and are guaranteed either the No. 8 or 10 seed for next week's MVC Tournament.
Bradley and Drake last met on Feb. 4 with the Braves pulling away for a 79-72 win in Peoria. The Braves come to Des Moines having won two-straight games and have one MVC road win this season.
Drake is third in scoring in MVC games by averaging 71.4 points per game against league foes while Bradley ranks ninth with 63.8 points per game against league foes. Since Jan. 24, Drake opponents have averaged 79.5 points per game.
Junior
Graham Woodward (Edina, Minn.) has come on strong to close the season and has scored in double digits in three-straight games including a season-high 15 points in the loss to Missouri State. During that three-game span, he is shooting 10-of-17 from the three-point arc after making a season-high four three-pointers at Loyola.
Darrell Brown has led Bradley this season with 12.4 points per game and scored 20 points with 14 free throws in the first meeting between the Braves and Bulldogs this season. However, Brown missed Bradley's last game due to injury.
Following Saturday's game, both teams advance to next week's MVC Tournament in St. Louis, Mo. With a win on Saturday, the Bulldogs will clinch the No. 8 seed and play on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. With a loss to Bradley, the Bulldogs will slip to the No. 10 seed and tip off at 8:30 p.m.
