EUGENE, Ore. – The 23rd-ranked Oregon Ducks defeated the 42nd-ranked Drake University men's tennis team, 7-0, on Sunday at the Student Tennis Center.
 
The Ducks jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after taking the doubles with victories on courts one and three.
 
No. 36 Thomas Laurent handed No. 55 Vinny Gillespie his first singles loss of the season with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles. Akihiro Tanka defeated Ben Stride, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3, while Simon Stevens clinched the win for the Ducks with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Calum MacGeoch.
 
Oregon then went on to win the final three singles matches to earn the 7-0 victory.

The Bulldogs' schedule doesn't get any easier as they travel to Minneapolis next weekend for a match against No. 32 Washington on Saturday and against No. 25 Minnesota on Sunday.
