Women's Tennis Welcomes South Dakota and Augustana

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis team hosts South Dakota and Augustana (S.D) at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
 
The Bulldogs will be looking to get their first win of the season after dropping their season opener to SIUE on Jan. 22.
 
South Dakota enter the weekend with a 0-3 record and will head to Northern Iowa on Friday before coming to Des Moines on Saturday. The Coyotes dropped a pair of matches last week falling to UMKC and Nebraska.
 
The Bulldogs will look to capitalize on the Coyotes struggles in doubles as USD hasn't won a doubles match this season. In singles, South Dakota as a trio of players that are 0-3 in dual match play.
 
Sunday's match will be Augustana's season opening dual match, who is a Division II powerhouse. Last year, the Vikings went 25-2 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II Championships.
 
Following this weekend's matches, Drake continues is five-match homestand on Feb. 10 and Feb. 11 when it hosts in-state rivals Iowa State and Omaha, respectively.
