DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis team came back to beat South Dakota 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
 
The Coyotes managed to win the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead.
 
The Bulldogs regrouped after doubles and took care of business early in singles. Sophomore Kenya Williams rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3, while junior Summer Brills cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 1, giving Drake a 2-1 lead.
 
South Dakota retook the lead, 3-2, with wins on courts five and six.
 
After dropping the first set 6-3, sophomore Joely Lomas won the final two sets 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4 to knot up the team score at 3-3.
 
In the third and decisive set, junior Tess Herder earned back-to-back breaks taking a 5-2 lead and held serve to win 6-2 to give Drake the 4-3 win.
 
The Bulldogs will have a quick turnaround as they host Augustana (S.D.) on Sunday at 11 a.m.
