DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis team rolled past Gustavus Adolphus College, 5-1, on Sunday at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point.
Summer Brills and
Joely Lomas topped Michaela Schulz and Ally Baker, 6-4, at No. 1 doubles, while
Kenya Williams and
Mela Jaglarz secured the point with a 7-5 win at No. 2.
Lomas wasted little time at No. 2 singles as she cruised past Baker, 6-1, 6-2. Freshman
Alex Kozlowski extended Drake's lead, 3-0, with a 7-6, 6-3 victory over Lilly Hartman at No. 5 singles.
For the second-straight match, Brills secured the match clinching point with her 6-2, 7-5 win over Schulz at No. 1.
The Bulldogs close out their non-conference schedule on Saturday as they host Upper Iowa.
