BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Drake University men's golf team had four players finish in the top-19 to lead the Bulldogs to a fourth-place finish at the Hoosier Invitational on Sunday in Bloomington, Ind.
"We didn't play as well today. The course was set up more difficult along with some wind made the scores higher," said Drake head coach
Matt Lewis. "Overall, it was a good tournament for us with four players finishing in the top-19, but we were a little disappointed being only four strokes back from second-place. This tournament ended up being a great experience for the team and one we can draw from in the future."
The Bulldogs recorded a 297 on the final day for a total score of 863 (278-288-297) and were four strokes behind second-place Indiana and two shots back from third-place and MVC-foe Bradley.
Sophomore

Tommi Avant,

Matt Lavery, finish tied for 19th-place with a total score of 216. Avant led the team on the final day, shooting one-over par, 72, (216=67-77-72). Ison carded a three-over, 74, (216=73-69-74), while Lavery registered a 76 in the final round (216=67-73-76).
