Bailee Cofer, a junior from Overland Park, Kan., has been named this week's Bulldog Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Drake Graduate and Professional Programs.
Cofer, a distance runner on the Drake women's track and field team, took eighth in the 10,000 meter run on the first day of the MVC Track & Field Championships with a time of 37:05.40. On the final day of the Championships, she took eighth in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 18:05.32.
Academically, Cofer holds a 3.80 grade point average and is double majoring in English and public relations.
Cofer and the women and men's track and field teams await the release of the start list to see if they will advance to the NCAA West Preliminary taking place May 25-27 and then the NCAA Outdoor Championship on June 7-10.
